CEREMONY

The objects in the «Ceremony» series were inspired by memories of home, a certain permanence of tradition and preserved domestic ceremonies, which, in turn, give tranquillity and a sense of security.

In my sculpture «Ceremony» I try to convey an inner sense of home, a safe space where one can be oneself. For me, home is a place of strength, where I come with my experiences, fill with energy and come out with new thoughts and solutions.

Appealing to creativity has been my refuge since childhood. I liked to tidy up and decorate my space using the materials at hand: paper, bits of fabric, cotton wool, old clothes, thread, lace.

Having retained from childhood memories a way of being at one with myself through a handmade ritual process, I continue to find inner peace by folding patchwork after patchwork. I use porcelain, to which I add paper, lace, thread and create thin porcelain «fabric cuts».
